RIM has officially outed the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930. After much rumours, the Canadian-based company announced the pair of touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard-sporting smartphones at its annual BlackBerry World conference in Florida.

Taking notes from both the previous Bold and the Torch, the new phones will keep the high-performance keyboard but also have a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display. Casing the keyboard and the screen is a 10.5mm brushed stainless steel frame with a high-gloss glass backplate a-la the Apple iPhone 4.
The pair come with the new BlackBerry 7 OS, the updated OS rumoured last week. With the new OS comes NFC capabilities, the first for BlackBerry, improved browsing, easier and faster UI and voice activated universal search.
Under the hood there’s a support for high-speed 4G/HSPA, 768 MB RAM, 8GB on board memory that’s expandable to 32GB. There’s also a 5-megapixel camera with flash and HD 720p video recording capabilities.
No word on exact timings for the release date of the Bold 9900 and 9930 but RIM announced that they will be available worldwide beginning this summer.
T3 is at BlackBerry World in Florida and we’ll have BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 hands-on pics and video later.
